STERGIOS MAVROMATIS

Research Associate

Stergios Mavromatis is Research Associate at the Department of Transportation Planning and Engineering of the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is also Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering and Surveying & Geoinformatics Engineering of the Faculty of Technological Applications of the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens. He holds a Rural and Surveying Engineering Diploma from NTUA (1991), and a PhD degree in Transport from NTUA (2002).
He has 25 years of experience in several fields of transportation planning and engineering and his interests are mainly focused in Road Safety, Highway Design and Vehicle Dynamics.
He has, participated in 7 research projects, he has published 1 Phd thesis, 1 Diploma thesis, 9 papers in scientific journals, 24 conference papers, he is a reviewer in 2 Scientific Journals and in an International Conference. His professional experience involves employment in private and concession firms as well as public authorities for the design of numerous transport projects from various assigned positions; such as, geometric and operational designer, head of road design team, transportation engineering project coordinator and technical consultant.
